Andy Carroll will miss out on England Under-19's European Championship finals after sustaining a heel injury.
THe European Championship finals start on July 14, but the player will instead link up with the Magpies on Monday to undergo a scan as preparations for the new season begin.

Carroll but picked up the injury at the National Football Centre in Burton-on-Trent.
Toon boss Kevin Keegan had expected to be without Carroll for the first part of the pre-season programme because of his England call-up.
Carroll ended the season in the Newcastle side that lost at Everton.
