Pavel Srnicek returned home to Ostrava in the Czech Republic after his release from Newcastle United, but the Czech-cum-Geordie has not hung up his gloves just yet.
He is without a club following the end of his contract, but he has irons in the fire and he hopes to have one more season at top level.
The 38 year old is hoping his agent can find him a club in Italy.
Srnicek: "I had a great time at Newcastle. I wish it could go on, but I have no regrets. It will always be my favourite club. The fans always made me welcome and I am happy I had the chance to return.
"I would like one more season before I retire. Perhaps in Italy. Who knows?"
