The world now knows that, due to some shoddy work from the Newcastle chairman, the extra clauses in the contracts of Michael Owen and Oba Martins confirm they are officially available for transfer.
Not only can Owen, who cost £17m, go for £9m ... but we hear the Magpies
will not recieve a cash windfall from Michael Chopra's move from Cardiff City to Sunderland.
The £5million deal between the Bluebirds and Roy Keane's side will all go to Cardiff, although Chopra will pick up a signing-on fee as he did not request a transfer.
But after recieving only £500,000 last summer for Chopra, Newcastle chairman Freddy Shepherd dropped another clanger. Cardiff chairman Peter Ridsdale said: "The chairman made sure he settled the deal there and then with no sell on clause."
