Gutierrez, who won his 5th cap for the Argentines, was substituted on 70 minutes, while Fabricio Coloccini was an unused sub.
The new Argentina manager thought his side were a class above the Scots and he believes Scotland had better unearth some quality if they want to reach South Africa in 2010.
Maradona: "We had a different level of skilll.
"They have a chance (to qualify) but if they want to do that, then they will have to raise their game. It will be difficult."
