Liverpool chief executive Rick Parry has questioned the need for loan deals in the Premier League, which is all very well coming from a club with millions to throw around. Obviously an attempt to make life harder for the poorer clubs.
Parry believes the loan system is being abused and thinks clubs are wealthy enough to make the practice unnecessary.

Parry: "When I was at the Premier League we always took the view that, given the money in the Premier League, you didn't need loans - you should be able to stand on your own two feet.
"There is enough money around to make transfer deals permanent."That stood over 10 years. It's only in the last two or three years that we have had the loan system in the Premier League.
"It worked fine without it. There is a sense that it can be open to abuse . But clearly it was the will of the clubs to allow the relaxation of it and clearly the majority are in favour."
Newcastle have used the loan system before, as in the case with Patrick Kluivert. Barcelona paid him £100,000 per week, something Newcastle had difficulty with due to Alan Shearer's complicated contract making him always the biggest earner at the club. So Barc paid half his wages, Newcastle the other half.
The deal was for a year, and if the Dutchman produced the goods, he would sign a full contract. Something that didn't happen.
Portsmouth took Lomana Lua Lua on loan, with a similar deal. If he was worth the money Pompey would pay the transfer fee, as happened in this case.
