Former Toon Star Tells Blades Fans To Button It!

By Nu Mad
Monday, 2nd November 2009
Former Newcastle Gary Speed wants the Sheffield United boo-boys to lay off boss Kevin Blackwell.

SU

It's nothing new to Blackwell, who took similar stick from Leeds United fans when he prepared for a Premiership Play-Off match at Cardiff by saying his Leeds team would "probably lose".

Well to his credit ... he was RIGHT ... and Leeds took a hammering.

Following last Saturday’s 4-3 home defeat by Cardiff, around 100 fans demonstrated in the Bramall Lane car park demanding Blackwell’s sacking.

Gary Speed (talking to the Daily Mirror): “If you look at Kevin’s record here it is phenomenal.

“He has transformed the club, and this is the first bad patch we’re going through in his 20 months in the job.

“The reason for that is an injury crisis which has robbed us of half our first-team squad.

“But, once everybody is fit, Kevin will turn it around. So let’s just all calm down and give him time to sort it.”
