Glenn Roeder allegedly tried to get Robbie Fowler to sign a two-year contract for the Toon, just days before the Newcastle manager got the sack. However, it didn't come off and now the Scouse striker is heading to Australia!

Fowler has reopened talks over a move to Sydney FC, according to reports in Australia.
The former England striker is a free agent after his release by
Liverpool at the end of last season, and sources close to the A-League club are reported to be happy at the way discussions have progressed.
Sydney are still likely to face competition from several Championship clubs, however, with Leicester and Cardiff known to be keen to clinch his signature.
