Commentary System At St James' Park?

By Nu Mad
Friday, 20th November 2009
Chris Palmer has e-mailed us asking if Newcastle Utd fans could help him in his plan for "an in-house commentary system of some sort" at St James' Park.

SJP

CHRIS PALMER: I am a 2nd year student at Newcastle University, studying Business Enterprise. We have been assigned a project this year, where we have been requested to start our own business and run it for a year. We are then left to research, fund and fully handle all aspects of our business.

I have been thinking for a while that an in-house commentary system of some sort would be of use at St. James park, due to the lack of a replay screen. This has prompted me into investigation as to whether it would be a viable business proposition for my module at university. In particular I have been thinking that a hand held/pocket or earphone radio, playing match commentary would be appropriate

However it requires me to do A LOT of market research, and to find out whether the fans who visit St. James park are interested in the idea or not. I was wandering whether Newcastle United Mad may be able to help us in any way; in particular with market research.

Currently we have a questionnaire (online version available) which takes less than 3 minutes to complete, however we have struggled to hit the numbers required on the street. It would be an amazing help if you could somehow get this to the fans with you; either through an e-mail or your face book page, or any other method you could help us with.

the questionnaire can be viewed at:

If there is any way that you may think you can help, it would be very much appreciated.

Thanks again

Chris Palmer
